Day 267

I'd seen this game floating around on before, but never did it until now. Interesting, to say the least.

Basically, if you have an MP3 player on your computer, you put it on shuffle and use the first song that comes up for each category. It ends up forming...

THE SOUNDTRACK OF YOUR LIFE

...or something similarly wacky. Here goes:

IF YOUR LIFE WAS A MOVIE, WHAT WOULD THE SOUNDTRACK BE?
So, here's how it works:
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool... DON'T CHEAT!

Opening Credits: "Something," the Beatles

Waking up: "I Am Mine," Pearl Jam

Falling in Love: "Know Your Onion!" the Shins

Fight Song: "I'm in Love (with Arthur Dove)," Portastatic (I can't think of a worse 'fight song')

Breaking Up: "Fresh Tendrils," Soundgarden

Formal/Prom: "Moving," Silkworm

Life: "Rebound," Sebadoh (is 'life' really a movie segment?)

Mental Breakdown: "Wicked Little Critta," They Might Be Giants

Driving: "400 Metres," Sloan

Flash Back: "After the Last Laugh," Archers of Loaf

Getting Back Together: "Lewis Hollow," Jeremy Enigk

Wedding: "East Berlin at Night," Early Day Miners

Birth of a Child: "Teenage Dream," T.Rex

Final Battle: "Lazy Afternoon," the Roots

End Credits: "Mama's Trippin'," Ben Harper

Wow. Wow. Why don't I do it again?

ROUND TWO

Opening Credits: "Have You Seen Her," Cousteau (this one works!)

Waking up: "More Than Goodnight," Space Needle

Falling in Love: "Badlands," Bruce Springsteen

Fight Song: "Laser Love," T.Rex

Breaking Up: "Reason to Believe," Bruce Springsteen

Formal/Prom: "the Warming Sun," Grandaddy (good match!)

Life: "Part of Me, Part of You," the Finn Brothers

Mental Breakdown: "Somebody to Shove," Soul Asylum (perfect!...what a great song)

Driving: "Slime," the Delusions (most miserable driving song ever)

Flash Back: "Pony St. (Bonaparte Rooms version)," Elvis Costello

Getting Back Together: "Roll with the Punches," Young MC

Wedding: "Soon," My Bloody Valentine

Birth of a Child: "Wild Packs of Family Dogs," Modest Mouse (eek)

Final Battle: "Olsen Olsen," Sigur Ros

End Credits: "Embassy Row," Pavement

Much better that time! Your turn!

Jason,
Now I finally understand. You have purged your music collection while really keeping your music collection in tact on your harddrive. It all makes so much more sense to me now.

oh, yeah, I'm calling the feds.
