Day 273
Wednesday, June 06, 2007
How much can you change yourself? What can you change and what can you not change? What should you change and what should you understand is vital brickwork to your personality?
Why do these questions haunt me? Mold me so that I may glorify you, LORD.

I'm coming to this understanding, and maybe I'm wrong here, that you cannot change yourself.
I guess we can be more aware of how we act out of those areas we want to change. And in recognizing these areas we discover how to work with them and shape them into good use. Granted I think God does the shaping and we just rise to the occasion of recognition.
Just as Parker Palmer states (greatly paraphrased), we need to go into the depths and face our monsters so that we understand them and see the shadows that we are casting. In that I think we change (figuratively). - At 1:28 PM, Jason said...

I think you hit the nail on the head, Al.
